What do we do to occupy people who are supposed to spend their entire life on ships? I'd hate for all the Seafolk to be Ayamar and wander around on land, even if it is an island. So.... what all would people do on ships?
Lets work on ideas for: jobs, quests, daily tasks, ranking, interaction between ships, and trading.

one possibility would be to have the sea folk isles be a few hundred small islands, all with a secret area. The entrances might be puzzle oriented instead of just hidden doors... much like he tained nym used to be, only a tad bit more challenging to open.
I think however, that someone needs to go through and collect as much info on the culture, and then we can discover what each 'level' should be doing.

Trade obviously will be a huge thing for the Atha'an Miere, with the initial availability of Illian and Tear (which should be done by their opening) to pull in at. Generally though, will want to have LOTS of ships wandering around the ocean. If I recall, if a seafolk woman is to give birth, she'll even get in a rowboat and paddle offshore is no other way is available to be on the water at the time. As such, I'm certain the seafolk would be virtually suicidal if they couldn't be sailing most of the time. In a way, quest types might cross over between merchant navy activities, and those of the coastguard. eg. * Rescue the crew of a ship caught in a horrendous storm * Recover the goods from a sunken ship * Chart ocean currents etc for faster trade routes (we can tweak ocean type zones from time to time for this) Other possibilities: * Storms * Underwater volcanoes * Sunken cities from the Age of Legends As for ships that can interact, I already have those I'll add more ideas as I think of them Tular
