I could be COMPLETELY mistaken, but I thouht some of the skills, such as backstab revamped somehow. Like you had to be a part of a secret clan, or some such. Stuff like that...
Once again I could be completely mistaken. Otherwise, I thought that 70% Stab was all you needed to get Backstab.
Perhaps Backstab is just harder to find on practice mobs, that could be it too.

I thought that you had learned shortblades, stab, hide and meditation to get backstab. Could be wrong also.  |

I already managed to negotiate an RPish way to do it, but I believe that yes, it's been taken out of standard circulation. Of course - I could be wrong but I'm no longer actually looking since I already have it  Thanks for the help |

I am new here so bare with me please.In the "other" mud you had to practice backstab at a thief(ROGUE) practice trainer.
I only Played the "other" mud as long as I have because OF backstab. it was a skill ANYONE could practice if you were willing to pay the Practice price it cost a thief 1 prac per prac%'s..it cost an MC(male channeler) 3 prac per %'s a hunter coud get it for 2 prac's per %'s and an FC(female channeler) being OVER powered had to pay 4 practice's per % per prac...If backstab is some kind of hidden clan thing i dont forsee me playing for very long because that means I have to play with others..even if i dont feel like it. I dont play muds to be told what to do..dont get me wrong..I play by the muds rules..but i prefer to solo play w/ the occasional smob trip/exp with other's thrown in..i LOVE RP..but i dont want to be told I HAVE to do so and so..or i cant play the char i love...I wanted to come HERE because the "other" mud is mainly PK..Allllll the time..i like doing Quests..and exploring the mud..i dont really like the idea of having to join a clan to do what i want to do..if thats the case i guess im stuck playn the "other" mud..because atleast there..i can stab a bandits unlawful butt in the back and feel good about myself.i can kill a evil mob and take his gear and give it to a noob..or a friend who died and cant get gear him/herself..hope i didnt piss anyone off with my 2 cents..and I DO want to play here. Its quiet,less stressfull and BIGGER! but stabbing wrong-doers is what i DO..

Also..I do love the difference here. I dont want you all to get the wrong first impression of me. I help noobs.I RP, but my schedule sometimes makes it hard for me to clan. I have 1 lvl 16 player here that i like playing a LOT. I have 1 friend here that play's the "other" mud also and love playn w/ him! but i just get sand in my craw when i think that as many hours as ive put into getting this guy to lvl 16 solo(with 3 lvls gotten by said friend helping me 'power exp') I would HATE to not be able to get backstab.
I hate playing in abs/combo..I LOVE being dodgey and sneaky!
*side note: 'Thieves' should get the see other char inventory skill when they practice meditation!!!*coughcough* Imp it! lol!
I realze i could get axes,Lblades,staves..a whole Plethera of stuff on here and i LOVE what you guys have done here so far,just PLEASE Please! let me have my backstab! I have been playn wot for forever and said thieves need dual wield,You guys HAVE it so im hooked already! just dont deny me my stab! I have dodge.daggers.parry at 70 already dual wield is at 60..sneak is at 50 and hide is at 60..Im praying that i can practice stab when hide is at 70 can someone let me know???
