I've long disliked the 'one size fits all' type of quest, yet I find it difficult at times to make customized 'mini-quests' for characters due to not knowing what would be fitting for that particular char's RP and attitudes. Audrya gave me what I believe is an awesome idea today. If anyone's interested in having customized 'mini-quests', mudmail me some basic info on your char, and I'll work on whipping up something fun for everyone... Also, there's a players section on the mirrorsmud.net site where you can post character bios, if people would do so, we would have a bit better idea where to start with things like this, so please get your bios up people, it'll make life more enjoyable for everyone... Audrya to the rescue once again, she reminded me I might wanna put a few specific questions down for ya'll. Such as, where are you from, what are your current goals, why did you leave home, if you left home, what are you doing to work towards your goals, where do you feel your loyalties, if you have any, lie? If we think of anything else, I'll drop in and post another list of questions fer ya's... Merc

just a note for those who read my post on the mud, or the mirrors web page, that all inquiries, and such about the "personalized" quests go to Merc, not me Much as i like to interact with you all, this is just a bit more than I can take on, what with my other duties... and the Sims, and Civ3

I always liked quests with intermediate goals that could be achieved in a variety of ways. Lets say acquiring the deeds of a widow's waterfront cottage so it can be razed and a dock erected in its place. You could try to buy them, talk her into giving them up, steal them, or I guess, kill her for them. If some of the approaches to solving a quest will impact on what options you have for doing another (a faction shift, for example) all the better! It all leads to the quests being more playable later
